Our
philosophy: to build up a tourism that is ecological
well-considered and above all, integrated. The pousada
was constructed by local builders.
Every tourist wants to buy a souvenir of the region so
we created the opportunity for the locals to work on
small sensibil projects.
French, Dutch and Belgian families donated a small
starting capital. Now 50 local women embroider hankies
and napkins and the boys paint wooden objects with
original indian Marajoara drawings found on the ancient
pottery.
The
state of Pará and Marajó are well known for their
folkloristic dances. In our village Joanes we started a
youth group for dancers between the age of 10 and 20.
They show us their musical richness.
