On foot or by bike

Take the passenger ship that leaves in Belém at the Hidroviária, armazém 10 (hangar 10). There are two shipping companies that organize the crossing: Banav and Arapari. They sail to Camará, the harbor of arrival at Marajó. The crossing, across a lay-off of the Amazon, takes about 3 hours and traverses unspoilt isles.

Once in Camará, you look for the little bus that orgnizes the transport to Joanes and you ask to be dropped at the Pousada Ventania. Distance Camará - Joanes: 22 km.

Departures crossing Belém - Marajó:

- from Monday to Saturday at 06.30 and 14.30;

- on Sunday at 10.00 am.

Departures crossing Marajó - Belém:

- from Monday to Saturday at 06.30 and 14.30;

- on Sunday at 15.00.

By car

Departure from Icoaraci, a small town situated next to Belém. The company that organizes the crossing is Henvil. The passage takes about 3 or 4 hours. This ferry also sails to Camará. From Camará, you follow the road to the first big crossroads. There you turn right, direction Joanes and the pousada.

Belém - Marajó - Belém by plane

The flight takes about half an hour and leaves at Belém from the airport of Júlio Cesar. On Marajó they touch down in Salvaterra of Soure. Then you can can join us by taxi.
